Adequate support and funding must be made available to S4C, BBC Cymru Wales and others to ensure that they provide suitable services in Welsh to accompany changes in the digital world and to contribute fully to the Cymraeg 2050 vision. It is a concern that there is no range of Welsh language offer available from a wide range of local or national providers to reflect the plurality of views and experiences of the people of Wales through the medium of Welsh.
There has been an increase in Welsh language content in digital media in recent years, expanding the reach and variety of the Welsh language cultural offer. This is not without its challenges to a minority language like Welsh as there is also a corresponding increase and variety in other languages, mainly English, meaning that more options are available to Welsh speakers.
