Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales
The Commission offers a range of key Welsh-language services, including their website.

Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama
- A high proportion of their teaching and outreach staff are able to offer a fully bilingual service in Music and Drama.
- Within their workshops and partnership projects, they can handle all enquiries or sessions through the medium of Welsh.
- The Arts Centre, its programmes, signage, and public announcements are bilingual.
- They welcome correspondence in Welsh and respond in the same language.
- Welsh is actively promoted in performances with subtitles.
- The College is present at national events such as the Urdd Eisteddfod and the National Eisteddfod.
South Wales Police
- You can communicate with South Wales Police in Welsh via email, letter, or over the phone.
- They will respect your language choice and respond in Welsh where appropriate.
- They will develop opportunities to see, hear, and use the Welsh language both internally and externally.
- They will promote the Welsh language on their website and in their public communications.
- They strive to increase the visibility of Welsh when dealing with the public as well as internally.
Swansea Bay University Health Board
· Swansea Bay University Health Board is responsible for secondary healthcare services across the counties of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. The Health Board's main hospitals in Morriston, Singleton and Aberafan provide planned care. In addition, acute services are available through their Minor Injuries Unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and their Emergency Department in Morriston.
· The Health Board is home to one of two cardiac centres in Wales, and to the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery. They also have a community hospital and a number of primary care resource centres that provide clinical services outside the walls of their main hospitals.
Swansea Council
- Correspondence and messages are accepted bilingually by the Council. It is also possible to register to receive correspondence from the Council in Welsh.
- Through its language strategy, you can see how the Council is promoting the use of Welsh between 2024–2029.
- The Council’s website contains comprehensive information about Welsh-medium education within the county.
- It is possible to access information and statistics about the Welsh language skills of the local population on the Council’s website.
Swansea University
- You can speak Welsh with Swansea University staff through academic services, events, and the Taliesin Arts Centre.
- Contact them in Welsh to discuss degree courses, conferences, or creative activities.
- They will provide academic provision through the medium of Welsh, as well as opportunities for students to learn or develop the language.
- They will encourage the use of Welsh in student life, teaching, and communication.
- They will ensure that Welsh is represented both visually and practically across the University and in students’ lives.
The Open University in Wales
- A high percentage of their staff can offer a fully bilingual service, including support for students and prospective students.
- They offer a multi-channel Welsh-language service via email, phone, and face-to-face.
- OpenLearn Cymru provides free courses and resources in Welsh.
- They offer a part-time Welsh-medium Certificate of Higher Education to support careers in teaching.
- They promote the Welsh language as part of their mission to widen access to higher education.
University of South Wales
- You can speak Welsh with designated officers through the Schools, Colleges and Outreach Team.
- Contact them in Welsh to discuss careers, higher education, or support for students and parents.
- They will provide the “Your Career and Welsh” module to develop Welsh language skills at every level of study.
- They will offer scholarships to students studying through the medium of Welsh.
- They ensure that Welsh is promoted through partnership with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
University of Wales Trinity Saint David
- You can speak Welsh with staff on every campus and receive full support in your chosen language.
- Contact them in Welsh to discuss courses, student services, or opportunities to learn the language.
- They will provide academic provision through the medium of Welsh and support students who wish to learn the language.
- They will encourage the development of a confident and skilled bilingual workforce.
- They ensure that Welsh is an integral part of their identity and vision for the future.
Vale of Glamorgan Council
- The Council provides a wide range of services in Welsh. More details about these services can be found on the Council’s website.
- Through their customer portal, it is possible to apply for licences, report issues, or request and register for services in Welsh.
- Individuals can also take part in public consultations through the ‘Cymryd Rhan y Fro’ digital platform in Welsh.
- Additional resources are provided for children at the Welsh Language Immersion Centre, which supports 4–11 year olds to succeed in Welsh-medium schools.
Valuation Tribunal Wales
- You can use the Valuation Tribunal for Wales to appeal council tax and non-domestic rating decisions in Welsh.
- Contact them in Welsh via their administrative office or through written and online correspondence.
- They will provide forms, guidance notes, and procedural information in Welsh.
- They will support and facilitate the use of Welsh during tribunal hearings in Wales.
- Ensuring that tribunal processes are accessible and fair for Welsh speakers.
Wales Millennium Centre
- Customers can contact the Centre in a variety of ways in both Welsh and English.
- The Centre’s bilingual chatbot can respond to simple queries in both languages. If your query cannot be answered, the chatbot can transfer it to a member of staff.
- It is possible to contact the Centre in Welsh by phone or face-to-face.
- Centre users can receive assistance from Welsh speakers at the Information Desk in the ‘Ffwrnais’ café-bar.
- Tickets for any events can be booked and customer queries answered bilingually, including transferring to a Welsh-speaking staff member if preferred.
