Newport City Council
- Period Proud Wales provides free period products to residents of Newport of all ages from venues across Newport, and home delivery is available for residents aged 11-25.
- Welsh Medium Primary and Secondary schools ensure children can speak, read and write in Welsh and English to a high standard. Some children start Welsh-medium education later in their school lives. You can transfer your child to Welsh-medium education at any stage via the Immersion Service.
- Customer Service Welsh Language Line allows members of the public to contact the Council and speak with a member of the Contact Centre in Welsh.
Ofcom
- Ofcom provides a mobile checker showing which network offers the best 4G or 5G signal in your area.
- After entering a postcode, the checker provides two sets of information:
- Coverage: Whether 4G/5G signal is available locally (indoors or outdoors) and whether the signal is likely to be strong or variable. Results are displayed on an interactive map.
- Performance: The likelihood of streaming video on your phone in your local area. This is shown using dials for each network.

- A high percentage of their publications relevant to Wales are available bilingually, including census bulletins.
- Dedicated pages on their website provide access to datasets in Welsh.
- They conduct surveys in Wales with the option to respond in Welsh.
- They welcome correspondence in Welsh and reply in the same language.
- They promote the Welsh language as part of their commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority
- The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is fully committed to the principle of enabling and supporting Welsh speakers to use their language in all aspects of their lives and recognises its responsibility to facilitate and promote this use.
- Examples of services provided by the Authority which can be accessed through the medium of Welsh are
• The Education/schools service where sessions can be delivered in the language of choice of the School;
• Marketing/promotion, for example through the Authority’s Press releases, Facebook and Instagram posts;

Pembrokeshire College
- A Welsh-language service is available to all customers, including applying for a course and attending an interview through the medium of Welsh.
- Phone calls are answered in Welsh by selecting option 2, and the Welsh Language Development Team is available to offer support.
- Their information materials, forms, and communication with students are available bilingually.
- Welsh is promoted as part of an inclusive educational experience across the College.

Pembrokeshire County Council
Pembrokeshire County Council provides a wide range of bilingual services for its customers.
- Their Contact Centre provides the first point of contact for customers on 01437 764551.
- They will respond in the language in which the correspondence is received (unless asked not to).
Their 'My Account' is an online council account for all their online services. It is easy to use, mobile friendly, safe and secure, and able to offer a wide range of services that can be accessed online such as: making payments, reporting problems, and individuals can sign up to notifications e.g. bin day, school closures and bridge closures.
Powys Council
- You can speak Welsh with staff through online services such as booking a visit to a recycling centre, using the Supply Chain Portal, or applying for an event licence.
- You can contact them in Welsh via the public website, application forms, or direct communication.
- They will develop digital services bilingually, encouraging the use of Welsh in everyday life.
- They will support residents in using Welsh when engaging with the Council.
- Ensuring that Welsh is offered as a natural language choice across public services.
Public Health Wales
- You can speak Welsh with Public Health Wales staff through their educational programmes, surveys, and health improvement services.
- Contact them in Welsh via websites, surveys, or when taking part in activities such as “Time to Talk” or “Help Me Quit”.
- They will provide educational resources, information about vaccinations, and health support services in Welsh.
- They will encourage the use of Welsh in public communication, education, and health campaigns.
- Public Health Wales ensures that Welsh is present across their national and local services.
Public Services Ombudsman for Wales
The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has three main roles:
- investigating complaints about public services and independent care providers
- considering complaints that councillors in Wales have breached the Code of Conduct
- driving systemic improvement in public services and standards of behaviour in local government

- Welsh is essential to their work in Wales, and inspection reports are available bilingually.
- Meetings are held in Welsh with translation available if needed, including meetings with education providers.
- Their website includes dedicated Welsh-language pages, ensuring equal access to information.
- They work with organisations such as Medr to strengthen the experience of Welsh-medium students.
- They see employing bilingual staff as an advantage to the organisation and support events that promote the Welsh language.
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council
- Full details of all the Council’s Welsh-language services can be found on the main Council website at www.rctcbc.gov.uk
- The Council offers a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants who speak Welsh at level 3 or above. Details of the Scheme can be found on the Council’s Recruitment pages on their website.
- Residents can use an interactive map to find Welsh-language events in their area. Events such as coffee mornings, live gigs, social evenings and more are listed.
- The Council’s library service provides a wide range of Welsh-language eBooks and eAudiobooks through BorrowBox.
Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales
The Commission offers a range of key Welsh-language services, including their website.
