Our time to act: The position of the Welsh Language 2021–25

The Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 places a statutory duty on the Welsh Language Commissioner to produce a report every five years on the position of the language. However, preparing this report is not just a duty for us. We welcome the unique opportunity to summarise the position of the Welsh language and offer ambitious ideas on how to improve the situation over the next five years and beyond.

We have already outlined several ambitious proposals and specific objectives to change the situation of the Welsh language in our Manifesto and Strategic Plan. But this report provides a unique opportunity to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, highlighting the key priorities and opportunities we see for the next period.
