The Arfon Food Bank will strive to ensure all online materials are available in both Welsh and English languages. Any items that are not currently available in Welsh, such as the website, will be prioritized to ensure equal access in both languages.
Communication (Verbal and Written)
Enquiries in both Welsh and English are welcome, and staff and volunteers are encouraged to communicate in the language initially used. In all circumstances, staff and volunteers are available to speak via phone, email or in-person in either Welsh or English.
Any communications shared by the food bank, such as digital newsletters, will be available in both Welsh and English languages.
Staff & Workplace
All postings will be presented in Welsh and English and will indicate the preference for bilingual and Welsh speaking applicants.
Training will be provided in the language of preference of the staff or volunteer.
Quality Control
All Welsh language documents will be clear and understandable to the average Welsh speaker. Translations will be reviewed by designated Welsh speaking volunteers and translation services will be used only if absolutely necessary.
