Carmarthenshire

It’s nearly time for the Urdd Eisteddfod and we are really looking forward to being in Llandovery for the week and having the opportunity to chat with many of you on our stand.

We will be there from Monday to Saturday and in addition to the opportunities every day for you to come and talk to the staff, interact with our map of Welsh place names and ask any questions we will also have special activities with many being offered by our partners and those who have received the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer).

On Tuesday (30 May) Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids Clubs will join us on the stand to offer a range of fun activities including a treasure hunt which will celebrate the culture and rich heritage of Wales! There will also be an amazing lego challenge and parachute games especially designed for children visiting the Urdd Eisteddfod!

On Friday, 2 June, the Duke of Edinburgh Award will join us, an organisation that has recently been successful in receiving the Cynnig Cymraeg approval. Congratulations to them and remember to come and take part in the various activities they have to offer.

We will also be making some important announcements during the week. At 11 o'clock on Thursday morning (1 June) the Children's Commissioner will join us to call for an improvement in the Additional Learning Needs provision within our education system for those who study through the medium of Welsh.

Then on Friday, 2 June at 1 o'clock we will welcome the National Centre for Learning Welsh to our stand to launch a new scheme which aims to collate young people’s words and phrases. The ultimate aim is to create a new glossary of Welsh words and phrases that are used regularly by young people across Wales. Come along and contribute your ideas!

We hope you agree that there is something here for everyone so why not pop in and see us - a warm welcome awaits you.
