The National Eisteddfod is fast approaching, and we are very much looking forward to being in Wrecsam for the week. We hope that we will have the opportunity to chat with many of you on our stand.
In addition to the daily opportunities for you to come and talk to the staff, interact with our place-name map and ask any questions, we will also have special activities on the stand and around the Eisteddfod maes.
At an event on Monday morning, 4 August at 11 at the Cymdeithasau pavilion, Welsh Language Commissioner, Efa Gruffudd Jones, will outline her vision following the publication of a five-year strategic plan and manifesto for the 2026 Senedd Cymru election. Efa will be joined by representatives from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, the National Union of Students Cymru and Wrecsam University as well as the Deputy Welsh Language Commissioner, Osian Llywelyn, and the event will be chaired by Iwan Griffiths.
On Thursday, 7 August at 11.30am on the Bangor University stand we will publish a regulatory policy statement on Artificial Intelligence and the Welsh language. A discussion will be held which will include the Deputy Welsh Language Commissioner and Director of Regulation, Osian Llywelyn, along with representatives from the Centre for Digital Public Services and Canolfan Bedwyr. On Friday afternoon, 8 August at 12pm, on our stand we will be announcing our charity for the year.
Throughout the week there will be a variety of activities offered by our partners and those who have received the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer). On Sunday, representatives of the Older People's Commissioner for Wales will be on the stand to discuss how to find services in Welsh, and on Tuesday you’ll hear more about the work of the Wales Air Ambulance as well as entertainment from Ysgol Maes Garmon choir.
On Wednesday Ffa-la-la will be on the stand performing a session for children, and presenting their brand new resources for teachers, 'Hwyliaith'. On Thursday representatives from Revenue and Customs will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate how to use their bilingual app. On Friday, why not come and get advice and support from Penodi if you want to apply for jobs or fill in your CV in Welsh.
Something for everyone, so why not pop in and see us – a warm welcome awaits you. You can view our activities for the whole week here.
