Llandudoch

The National Eisteddfod is fast approaching and we're really looking forward to being in Llantwd for the week. We hope we will have the opportunity to chat with many of you at our stand.

In addition to the daily opportunities for you to come and talk to the staff, interact with our place name map and ask any questions, we will also have special activities on the stand and around the field.

On the first Saturday why not come and enjoy a story workshop for children with Bardd Plant Cymru, (Children’s Laureate for Wales), Siôn Tomos Owen and following that there will be a creative story-and-picture session with Llinos Mair.

At an event on Monday morning, 3 August at 11 a.m. at the Cymdeithasau pavilion, Welsh Language Commissioner Efa Gruffudd Jones will mark ten years since the Welsh language standards came into force and look back at the transformative impact of the Standards over that period.

The Commissioner will be joined by the Cabinet Minister for Education and the Welsh Language, Anna Brychan MS, who will share her perspective on the contribution of the Standards to the Government's ambitions for the Welsh language and discuss the opportunities ahead for their future development.
Chaired by Nest Jenkins there will be a panel discussion which will be an opportunity to consider the Commissioner's calls and how we can ensure the Standards continue to drive positive change across Wales.

On Tuesday Ant Evans will talk about his new book which will be published earlier that day, and on Wednesday morning why not come along for a chat with representatives of the PENODI recruitment agency while in the afternoon there will be a fun CISTEDDFOD session, an opportunity for children to explore artefacts, role-play and work creatively.

On Friday the Ombudsman for Public Services’ office will be on the stand – an opportunity for you to come along for a chat and find out more about its work.

Something for everyone, so why not come and see us – a very warm welcome awaits you.
