This is the form recommended in the national standard reference work, Rhestr o Enwau Lleoedd/A Gazetteer of Welsh Place-Names (University of Wales Press, 1967). One should not deviate from its recommendations without good reason.
However the Panel acknowledges the local custom of using the form Cefn-coed in some contexts. Please note that this name should be written as one word with a hyphen to aid pronunciation as the name of a settlement is usually written as one word in order to distinguish between settlements and topographical features.
